Great Landscape Design Ideas for Small Backyard Spaces - July 7, 2011I came across and article courtesy of HGTV.com on how to make the most out of small spaces in your backyard space. These ideas are unique unto each backyard of course, but by checking out these different pics, you will be able to apply certain features to your own space keeping in mind the amount of workable space.
The use of pavers laid diagonally can expand space using an optical illusion and really clean up a ground area that is mostly dirt, weedy or just plain unsightly.
Small water features and replacing old rotting wooden stair steps with stone can really give your backyard a fresh boost. Plus, add some shrubbery for a natural privacy and shaded environment.
The concept of a decorative garden can be aesthetically pleasing to the eye by utilizing stones to create curved row planter boxes for plants, vegetables and herbs.
When you are in a pinch for space but want to bring the fantastic element of fire into your backyard, think about placing a few natural gas or propane tiki torches in to the mix. Tiki torches can add accent lighting and everyone is attracted to fire. Tikis are relatively inexpensive, burn a small amount of fuel but really can add an element of relaxation to a smaller patio environment.
