Fantastic Outdoor Living Room Design Incorporating Fire Pits - August 18, 2011 I love when I come across a great article that features outdoor fire pits as the centerpiece within great landscape and patio design. These landscape architects really know how to marry modern outdoor living with the natural surroundings to achieve a perfect balance of aesthetic design and function. This article displays several different designs varying from modern sheik design to rustic natural incorporation into the surrounding landscape. It's a nice modern industrial contrast to the surrounding flora and really helps the fire pit flame pop into the forefront of the design space. modern landscape design Another one of my favorites is the fire pit placed at ground level in the same geometric breakdown of the pavers and it's offset placement within the patio surround. It wouldn't have the same effect if it were placed dead center in the patio area, but feels in balance as it helps complete the circle. Also, the blue glass used is a nice contrast to the natural surrounding of stone, wood and water.
