Finished Product - In Ground Fire Pit Dig a trench to run your gas supply from your home or propane tank. Dig a drainage ditch as well for water runoff from beneath the center of the fire pit. Place 2" drain pipe in the ditch and leave open end of pipe exposed. Note the slope to allow downhill runoff of water.

Set your concrete rings and fill in the area around your fire pit with gravel 10" around the concrete rings. Fill center of fire pit with gravel to allow for drainage. Be sure to leave your gas and power supplies exposed a few inches above ground. At this point, you will want to pour your concrete patio 4" above the grade rings leaving a 10" space around around the fire pit to set rocks. Always check for gas leaks and then test fire your ignition system.

After testing, you want to remove the system when pouring your concrete patio. After concrete has set, place your rocks and attach flex line to the gas source and run it to the gas valve or the electronic system (electronic system not mandatory). Reinstall your burner system, place 6-8" inch rocks around perimeter, then set your lava rocks in the aluminum pan, finally place logs however you please making sure to leave gas jets exposed to achieve maximum flame. Voila! The finished product. Invite family and friends to sit around your brand new fire pit and enjoy!
